The European film festival premiered latest work of Chinese actor Hu Ge and Taiwanese star Kwai Lun-Mei. Film received difference positive feedbacks. Audience stood up in applause including Quentin Tarantino. The fugitive thriller/noir is by Chinese writer-director Diao Yinan. Yinan is making his Cannes Competition debut with his fourth feature.
Among the critics: "Diao Yinan's latest noir contains enough flashes of brilliance to certify him as a major filmmaker, but it's no Black Coal, Thin Ice. (Ed. Yinan's debut movie at Cannes)".
